Heather L. Paterno

Heather L. Paterno is a native of Central Pennsylvania, born in Hershey and raised in Palmyra. Heather is a 1995 graduate of Bentley College (B.A., cum laude) and received her J.D. from the Dickinson School of Law of the Pennsylvania State University in 2001. She was admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar in 2001 and is admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania. Heather is a member of the Pennsylvania and Dauphin County Bar Associations and is a former board member of the Harrisburg Branch of the American Association of University Women. In 2005 Heather earned admission into the Daughters of the American Revolution, an organization committed to public service and historic preservation which is comprised of women who have traced their lineage to individuals who served the colonies during the Revolutionary War, where she serves on the Lebanon Chapter's scholarship committee.
 
Heather was recognized by the Dauphin County Bar Association (DCBA) in 2006 as its Pro Bono Lawyer of the Year. This high honor is awarded to the DCBA lawyer who distinguishes herself by providing free legal representation to those clients unable to afford an attorney. Most of Heather's pro bono cases involve legal issues related to children, including custody, adoption, and visitation. Heather was recognized by the Pennsylvania Bar Association that same year for commitment of service to the DCBA and provision of family services.  She continues to serve on the DCBA's public service committee.
 
Heather concentrates her practice in the areas of family law and commercial litigation and is a court-appointed guardian ad litem for Dauphin County.
