Ronald M. Katzman

Ronald M. Katzman was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He was admitted to the bar in 1958. Ron is admitted to the Pennsylvania Supreme and Superior Courts, the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, the U.S. Court of Appeals Third Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court. Ron received his undergraduate degree from University of Pennsylvania (A.B., 1954) and his law degree from Harvard University (J.D., 1957). Ron was an Assistant Attorney General in Pennsylvania from 1959-1961. He also served as President of the Estate Planning Council of Central Pennsylvania from 1971-1972, Chairman of the Hampden Township Planning Commission from 1972-1977; Solicitor of the Silver Spring Township Zoning Hearing Board from 1975-1985, a Member (1978-1984; 2003-present) and Chairman (1981-1984) of a Hearing Committee of the Disciplinary Board of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, a Member of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania Civil Procedural Rules Committee from 1986-1994, and as an Adjunct Faculty Member of the Widener Law School.

He recently completed a two-year term as Chairman of the Board of the Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra, and continues to serve on its board and as its legal counsel. He also served on the Board of Bethesda Mission (1988-2000, President 1996), and has served on the Church Council of Trinity Lutheran Church, Camp Hill and the Board of Directors of Harrisburg Rotary Club. He is a member, Board of Trustees of Messiah College (2004-present). He served for 27 years as general counsel of Tressler Lutheran Services, which provided a full range of social services, and also operated many nursing homes and senior housing facilities in Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Delaware.

Ron is a Member of the Dauphin County, American, and Pennsylvania Bar Associations. As a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, Ron is a Member of the Committee on Lawyer Advertising. He practices primarily in the Business and Taxation Department, and in the areas of Estate Planning, Real Estate, and Health Law. He has been listed under "Business Litigation" in The Best Lawyers in America.
